This is the news about the idea of attending online school. In the article, there are voices of questioning the online class quality and the in-class interaction between teachers and students.
If we don't need classroom anymore, we can make school buildings into homeless shelter, or community center, museum or for as new living environment...etc. What's the meaning of going to school? I am thinking about the meaning of space and how school as a community connector in a place, and how important it is?
It is important to connect students to the global connection level. This New technology states that students will have these benefits. Personally, I love to be with people, hang out with them in person instead of sitting in front of screen and typing.

ReplyDeleteOne thing I think happens with ideas like this that people don't seem to really grasp is the idea that no one is saying it's all or nothing. Why can't this just be another tool, one more approach and resource in education to help students who will choose to learn this way? Just because a new idea is introduced does not mean that everyone needs to do things the 'new' way. thoughts?
I agree with it, its like iphone which is just a new tool or product, no one has to be forced to use it. I think online class is benefit for parts of students. The point is how technology indeed take away part of our real human beings interaction activities.
ReplyDeleteI like in person instruction myself - I need that interaction. But, as long as the instruction was engaging I think that everything is a possibility. What an amazing opportunity for everyone to be able to learn from all over the world.
