Get into the Cloud!

What pops out in my head is in the future, all we need is a piece of something and no more physical paper files. Everything will be invisible and up in the air which is really ideal and conceptual. It also makes me think about the idea of seeing is believing. Reducing the waste of resources, this cloud technology indeed change the way we live.

Microsoft to Offer Office 365 to Schools for Free
Simon Jones ponders the ethical question of supplying free office software and services to school children and feels that the main factor driving Google and Microsoft’s to power these free services to schools is to get young users to get used to their products from an early age. In both cases, the ideology is to sell more software or services and for that the user has to be educated. By educating target markets at an early age, the companies achieve that objective.

  1. I love the cloud and yet I am a little freaked out about it (kind of like when I think about how big our universe is ....). Is it ok for big companies to provide their wares to schools for free when it seems their main reason for doing so is purely financial - hooking consumers in at a young age? What are the rpos and cons of this and do they balance...

  2. I like the idea of thinking about the universe, we will be looking at the screen instead of the sky in the future.
