We are in the Apple generation, its in our lives and now it is going to become an education tool. There are already been using as education tool in some schools. Technology represent cetrain social class and education quality. Considering this as technology and as an education revolution, I think if the education system could afford it, it will be great. Students in Taiwan have to carry about 20 pounds textbooks to school. With this new generation, technology would provide a very environmental friendly situation.
Another concern about using IPad as textbooks, I am just concern about students might get distract with easily, and it might be hard to control of what they are reading during the class.

thanks for sharing this post, chia chen. i think as with much technology, finding the balance of usage for it is key. you want to take advantage of it as a technological tool which has features which facilitate learning (no 20 pounds of books, more interactive interfaces, etc.) but don't create distractions. But how do you do this? No wi-fi in the classrooms when using ipads? firewalls to access only certain sites? do schools provide students with ipads that can only be loaded with certain apps while they have them? It's not an easy question to answer.
